"And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45 (KJV)
"Now therefore, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house, confirm it forever and do as You have spoken," 2 Samuel 7:25 (NASB)
"Now therefore, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house, confirm it forever and do as You have spoken," 2 Samuel 7:25 (NASB)
Has the Lord given you a word?
Has it been fulfilled?
Hold on to His word in faith until it is fulfilled.
Give Him praise for fulling his word in your life. Be thankful and bless his name until you see it come to pass.
Mary heard the angel speak to her and he informed her of things to come. She believed, and there was a performance of the words that were spoken. David heard the words of God spoken to him through God's prophet and revealed to him by prophecy. He believed and prayed for its fulfillment.
Many times we receive a word from God, through revelation or through prophecy. What do we do with these words? Let's hold on to them in prayer and praise until we see them fulfilled.
Here are some words which the Lord has spoken to me over the years:
1 Samuel 14:6 "For there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few."
Isaiah 43: 18-19 Behold! I do a new thing
1 Chronicles 17:25 "For you my God have revealed to your servant... therefore your servant has found courage to pray before you."
Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you and ye shall hold your peace."
Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Sometimes, there's no straight path from receiving the word to its fulfillment. We might have to pass through fields of doubt, contend with despair and hopelessness, but when we remember that we have received a word from God, this should give us the strength and courage to press on, like David.
And sometimes, all we need to do is sit still and trust God to perform his words as he has spoken them, like Mary. As my favourite devotional puts it, "There is a perfect passivity which is not indolence. It is a living stillness born of trust. Quiet tension is not trust. It is simply compressed anxiety."
Here are some Prayers that can help as you take stock of God's words to you.
- Thank you Lord for fulfilling your words spoken over my life
- Any word yet to be fulfilled, Lord bring it to pass (Matthew 5:18)
- As you have spoken in the past to me, keep speaking Lord. As I have heard your voice, help me to keep hearing your voice.
- Let me be obedient to your instructions that your words may be truly fulfilled in my life.

God bless, increase and keep you, in Jesus name !
God has promised to supply all our needs. What we don't have now, we don't need now.
