THE THINGS WE TAKE FOR GRANTED

I'm compiling a list of things we take for granted beginning with my personal list. I have realized that there are certain things we take for granted. This list has helped me to be more thankful about the little things and the seemingly 'insignificant' things. It has also helped me count my blessings and realize that I am truly blessed. It has also helped me realize that every good gift comes from the Father (Jas. 1: 17); and that I should be grateful for every gift received. You'd be surprised the things that end up on the list! It was (still is) a very enlightening experience. Sunshine: Stuck in -3 ° C weather, with the prospects of it getting worse; sunset at 16:00; cloudy gray days.... I've begun to appreciate what little bit of sunshine I get. Some days I long for the 45 °C  of Gusau ... but alas! For the little bit of sunshine I get everyday, Lord I'm grateful. Bio-foods: What? now i have to pay extra to eat 'bio-foods'? where I come from... ever

The River and the Source

Finally! after weeks of absence, i'm updating my blog. Hurray! of all the many things that have happened in the interim, I want to share a particular event, its about 'forgetting the source'. A friend recently told me a Yoruba proverb:   "odo to gbagbe orisun e a gbe" ( the river which forgets its source will dry up - at least that's how i think it's put in Yoruba). I can apply this analogy to many aspects of life, family, friends, relationships etc but today, i'd rather apply it to faith. My faith and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ has sustained me and been my anchor through hard times and good times, joys and the sorrows of life, I have always been reminded of the comfort I have in my Savior. The frustrations of life, heart breaks, stressing 'acada' moments, in 'brokeness' (lack) and plenty... I have always found solace in Him. Suddenly...... its like the lights were turned off and panic set in... hell was about to break loose...
